The Electrostrings

Frequently Asked Questions

Two Violins and One Cello.

The electric violin is amplified from an electrical pickup — the sound is not produced by the instrument itself, but the pickup transmits the signal to the sound system which plays the sound. Functionally, anyone that can play an acoustic violin should be able to play the electric violin, provided they practice getting accustomed to the different feel and response.

We specialize in current hits that are on the radio, going back to when we started in the 2010s. We also incorporate vintage favorites as well.

Yes! Most of our roster started out doing only classical music and then expanded into electric — many of us still perform as soloists with orchestras, as chamber musicians, and as recitalists in the classical scene.

For most events, yes — our base price includes a basic sound setup. We also offer full production packages through our sister company Vibrant Harmony Entertainment, including custom setups and staging. If we don't have the means to execute your vision, we collaborate with larger production teams in our preferred network. We can also work with your existing sound company.

We perform to our own backing tracks that we supply (with our own high-end professional sound system), but we also perform ad-lib style alongside DJs. We can provide the DJ for your event, or if you already have one hired, we can likely collaborate. Some of our members are also DJs themselves.

Fill out the inquiry form with your event date, location, and details, and we'll schedule a phone call to discuss pricing and packages. We're available to discuss bookings M–F 9am–5pm, and weekends by appointment when available. Our contract is a standard two-page agreement and we require a 50% non-refundable deposit, which is industry standard.

Yes. For weddings and awards ceremonies specifically, we schedule a Zoom consultation to discuss your rundown, get the specific playlist nailed down, and work out logistics. We'll also coordinate with your event planner to make sure everything goes smoothly.

We dress appropriately for the event. For black-tie affairs, we wear tuxedos/suits and formal gowns. For summer outdoor events, we may dress down slightly if the occasion calls for it. Some events are more casual (barbecues, carnivals, yacht parties), but we always maintain a chic, trendy appearance.

The designated leader typically arrives at least one hour before the start time. The rest of the group arrives 30 minutes before to get settled in. For larger productions, our production team may arrive up to two hours early. We always sort this out during the initial consultation so everyone is on the same page.

We announce public performances when they occur, however most of our events are private by design and not open to the public.

Many senior citizens hire us specifically because they don't like the assumption that older guests only want music from the 1920s and 30s! We've been booked for 75th, 80th, and even 90th birthday parties. We also know plenty of classic vintage songs — The Temptations, The Beatles, and more.

When we are the only entertainment (no DJ), our sets are typically 45–50 minutes, followed by a 15–20 minute break. During breaks, we always put on background music — there will never be dead air. Nearly every event has a natural break moment: weddings have toasts, corporate events have speeches or programs, and many events feature additional performers. When working with a DJ, we sometimes do shorter 30-minute sets so the crowd can enjoy the DJ's mixing as well.

We typically perform with one male (our leader Monty Bloom) and two female performers, but we offer both all-female and all-male configurations — the latter is particularly popular for religious Jewish events.
